Ideal - textile factory

The Ideal factory was established in Nova Gorica in 1959 to produce high-quality ready-to-wear clothing. It employed many women who made garments for both domestic and international markets, including uniforms for the flight attendants of the Slovenian airline Inex Adria Aviopromet (later Adria Airways). Vida Slokar (1938–2024), a key figure in the Slovenian fashion scene, gained recognition for her innovative collections that followed the latest trends.

The company went into decline in the late 1990s and was eventually closed. Its building on 25 June Street in Nova Gorica was later squatted for many years and became known for its diverse music programme. Today, the site stands empty.
