Solkan Kayaking Centre
On the site of the former Lenassi mill complex — which once included a sawmill, a weir for collecting timber, and a paper mill — today stands a well-maintained whitewater kayaking course that has hosted numerous World and European Cups. The stands were built on the remains of the old industrial buildings, destroyed during the First World War.
The Soške Elektrarne Kayak Club is one of the region's most important sports organisations, successfully training new generations of athletes. Its members have also competed at the Olympic Games. Locals refer to the area as "at the weir" and consider it the town's unofficial beach, as it is also a popular spot for swimming.
