Panovec forest

The hills of Kostanjevica and Rafut extend eastwards into the 380-hectare Panovec municipal forest, a popular area for walking and recreation. A fitness trail runs through the forest. Declared a natural landmark in 1985, it has since been home to one of Slovenia’s first educational forest trails. More than one hundred tree species grow here.
